If you feel a panic attack developing, take long, breaths with your outward breath being twice as long as your inward breath. Then give your brain a distraction challenge that needs some concentration. This could be counting backwards in threes from 100. (100, 97, 94, 91 etc) at a steady pace, all the way to 0 or until you feel you have regained control.
